IT Technician with expertise in operations and networking

An opportunity to work as an IT Technician in the public sector, taking responsibility for daily IT operations and network management.
Main requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of relevant work experience
  • OR University education in IT (e.g., computer engineering) or equivalent plus at least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Very good knowledge of computers, peripherals, operating systems, networks, communication and information security
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office or equivalent
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems (e.g., Easit GO or ServiceNow)
  • Fluent communication in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for ensuring smooth daily IT operations
  • Troubleshooting and assessing how best to resolve issues
  • Acting as local IT technician mainly working with the operation and development of the authority's local network environment and communication between computers within the same building
  • Providing support and helpdesk services to users
  • Managing data communication, operations and data security in large network environments, sometimes globally
  • Testing new products and informing users about updates
  • Installing and configuring network communication devices such as routers, servers and workstations
  • Ensuring IT operations security (e.g., installing firewalls)
  • Installing programs and adapting them to the network
  • Technical responsibility for IT equipment in conference areas, including video meeting systems
  • Managing backups
  • Administering standard systems such as mail and calendar
  • Administering backup, storage and application servers
