DevOps Engineer

We are seeking an experienced DevOps consultant for an assignment with a client in central Uppsala. The client plans to build their first Kubernetes cluster to operate two extensive national IT infrastructures. These systems handle large amounts of data and metadata related to research publications and digitized historical collections. The existing systems have a high load with over 10 million requests per day and a total storage volume of approximately 130 TB.
Main requirements:
- Extensive experience building and operating Kubernetes clusters.
- Strong experience in Kubernetes cluster architecture for various environments.
- Completed several implementations of Kubernetes clusters from scratch.
- Good knowledge of required hardware for well-functioning Kubernetes clusters.
- Knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and DevOps processes.
- Experience with storage solutions and scalable infrastructure.
- Ability to educate and guide team members in new technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a Kubernetes cluster from the ground up.
- Ensure stable and secure operation of the infrastructure.
- Transfer knowledge to existing technicians about Kubernetes and its ecosystem.
- Optimize the cluster to handle administrative interfaces, data storage, full-text indexing, and public search interfaces.
