Bygghemma is Sweden's largest online retailer in building materials, home and garden. They are seeking a driven Data Engineer to develop their data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role involves building and securing future data infrastructure and pipelines, supporting business analysts and Data Scientists by providing clean and organized data for analysis and reporting.
Main requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Proven experience building data pipelines and working with ETL frameworks
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub
- Strong skills in SQL and Python or other data processing languages
- Good knowledge of data governance and security best practices
- Ability to work with large datasets and optimize data queries for performance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines to collect and process large datasets from multiple sources
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the processing pipeline
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and business analysts to ensure data accessibility and optimization for analysis
- Manage data storage on GCP and optimize for best possible performance
- Implement data governance, monitoring, and security measures in accordance with company standards
