System Engineer IT/OT Infrastructure

Join Vattenfall Vattenkraft to develop and maintain critical IT/OT solutions essential for Sweden's future energy supply. Work mainly hands-on with hardware and software in process-proximate IT/OT infrastructure, handling troubleshooting, changes, and building new systems often remotely across distributed IT environments. Be part of a close-knit, helpful, and open team of ten with a strong focus on IT security, curiosity, and technical innovation.
Main requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in IT or equivalent experience and education.
  • At least a couple of years of experience in IT system operations and maintenance, preferably in data center/server operation.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Server operation, storage solutions, and backup; Operating systems - Linux, Windows Server; Directory services - LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory; Virtualization platforms such as VMware or KVM.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Possibility to be on-call for system readiness after introduction.
  • Possess a B driver's license and be willing to travel.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain Vattenfall Vattenkraft's process-proximate IT/OT infrastructure, including hands-on work with hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot and make changes to existing environments and build and configure new solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting in distributed IT environments with large geographical dispersion, often guiding technicians remotely to perform on-site actions.
  • Collaborate mostly within the company and contribute previous experiences and new ideas to the team.
Required hard skills:
  • Knowledge of server operations, storage solutions, backup systems.
  • Experience with operating systems Linux and Windows Server.
  • Experience with directory services LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware and KVM.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS) is a merit.
