SAP Support Specialist

Support the client's operational business by managing, developing, and quality assuring the PRIO (SAP) system in the areas of BASIS, BI/BO, and Portal, as well as managing central master data.
Main requirements:

  • Good social and pedagogical skills
  • At least 10 years of combined experience as a SAP BASIS Support Specialist
  • At least 5 years experience in BASIS/database technology in larger SAP development projects
  • Documented practical experience with transport management
  • Experience working in an ITIL-driven maintenance organization
Responsibilities:
  • Handle incoming BASIS cases (incidents & changes)
  • Installation and upgrades of SAP, databases, portal
  • Capacity and performance optimization, proactive monitoring
  • Investigations and analyses of platform, integration, and security
  • Participate in projects and migrations
  • Define target architecture for SAP Solution Manager in upcoming S/4HANA landscape
  • Set up, configure, and document SAP Solution Manager & Focused Run (Project, Change, Test, Release, CCLM, monitoring)
  • Conduct workshops with process owners to specify necessary functionality
  • Maintain continuous communication with operations and maintenance organizations
  • Incident handling - analysis, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents in SM9; train customer staff in methodology and solutions
  • Consultative support for additions/changes (platform, integration, functionality) while involving and upgrading customer staff competence
  • Develop long-term design plans, participate in architecture work (landscape/Basis), security, and capacity assessments
  • Strategic security work including market monitoring, risk assessment of new components, and documentation for various stakeholders
  • Supportive function - advising maintenance and management functions, requirements setters, and projects including method development
Required hard skills:

Recommended hard skills:
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration
  • Deep knowledge of SAP Solution Manager and Focused Run
