The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding and seeking Mobile IT Service Technicians to support its digital transformation and strengthen IT support in core operations. The role involves providing local IT service, user support, and training primarily at prisons, remand centers, and probation offices in the Malmö region. The position includes travel within the region and occasional overnight stays. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in IT, experience in IT or technical service, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to the organization's values of respect for individuals and human dignity.
Main requirements:
- Complete upper secondary education certificate or diploma
- Experience in service roles
- Experience with IT or technical service
- Experience working within the Prison and Probation Service's core operations
- Proficiency in spoken and written Swedish
- Valid category B driving license
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key interface between the IT department and core operations, providing local IT support and training
- Perform IT service tasks in prisons, remand centers and probation offices within the regional area
- Advise, guide and support personnel on IT services and contribute to local IT security efforts
- Support IT service requests and IT support troubleshooting
- Contribute to IT service development by collecting feedback and suggestions
- Assist with specific IT department projects such as hardware implementation and lifecycle management
- Handle delivery, transport, and installation of IT hardware in regional building projects
Required hard skills:
- Knowledge of PC hardware, thin clients, laptops, printers, and video equipment
- Experience in user support and service
- Understanding of IT service management and support
Recommended hard skills:
- IT-related education
- Experience as an onsite technician or similar role
- Experience supporting end users
- Understanding of working in large organizations
Soft skills:
- Responsible and able to independently structure, prioritize and manage tasks within deadlines
- Calm, attentive and accommodating manner
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt communication based on others’ learning styles
- Ability to act in accordance with decisions and handle criticism appropriately
