The IT Category Manager role involves managing IT procurement contracts, leading major software contract renewals, and supporting IT sourcing activities within a complex organizational environment. The position is a temporary assignment of 6–9 months based in Stockholm, requiring onsite presence a few days per week. Key responsibilities include overseeing group-level IT contracts, ensuring compliance with policies, collaborating on sourcing strategies, and contributing to vendor management and operational improvements.
Main requirements:
- University degree or equivalent
- Proven successful negotiation experience with global software suppliers, e.g., Microsoft
- 5-10 years professional experience, preferably in complex organizations
- Experience in strategic IT sourcing development
- Work experience with Microsoft solutions
- Excellent IT sourcing expertise or strong interest in global accounts management
- Fluent English in conversation and writing
- Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Self-motivated with project management experience aligned with business strategy
- Strong personal drive and cooperative team-player attitude
- Skilled in business tools for analysis and presentation
- Willingness to travel approx. 30 days per year within Sweden and internationally
Responsibilities:
- Manage own IT sourcing activities
- Oversee IT contracts related to group-level applications, IT infrastructure, software, and cloud services
- Ensure contracts comply with internal policies and regulations
- Communicate contract information within the organization
- Participate in governance processes internally and externally
- Support business and drive operational improvements
- Align IT contracts with strategic goals and compliance requirements
- Maintain transparency of financial aspects of contracts including financing and accounting
- Support vendor management in the IT function
- Lead supplier governance and supplier development activities
