We are seeking an experienced Database Engineer to join an international project supporting Oracle-based applications. This senior role based in Warsaw, Poland, with 75% remote work, involves ensuring the continuity, reliability, and performance of database environments through design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mission-critical Oracle systems.
Main requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing Oracle Database (versions 12c to 19c)
  • Strong practical knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and ASM in production environments
  • Experience with Linux operating systems
  • Proficiency with Oracle tools: Data Guard, RMAN, Data Pump
  • Proven ability to create and manage PDB services
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate microservices and downstream configurations
  • Familiarity with Fast-Start Failover (FSFO) setup and troubleshooting, including observers
  • Knowledge of enterprise storage and database architecture design principles
  • Understanding of IT processes such as change management and incident handling
  • Experience with Oracle OEM architecture and metric management
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Proficient in English
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare pre-production environments to enable Fast-Start Failover (FSFO)
  • Synchronize Oracle Data Guard and resolve related issues
  • Rebuild standby databases when required
  • Create and validate database services, including at the PDB level
  • Create new databases and migrate existing PDBs to new containers
  • Activate FSFO and troubleshoot FSFO-related problems
  • Perform switchover and failover tests
  • Apply database-level patches
  • Make system-level changes related to Unix processes, load management, and daemon configuration
  • Handle RAC issues in coordination with disaster recovery planning
  • Work with Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) microservices and OEM setup
  • Implement validated changes in production environments
