Job openings for Software Engineer, Data Engineer

At FRA, we work with something unique in Sweden, and you can be part of it. Regardless of role, we contribute to societal benefit through meaningful work — together tackling unique tasks for Sweden's security and integrity. We offer interesting work assignments with excellent opportunities for personal development. We believe a mix of people from various backgrounds creates a dynamic and creative work environment — our differences are our strength. Are you eager to contribute to Sweden's independence globally? We seek a technical rockstar who considers Linux the obvious choice, is sharp in Python, and unafraid of really large data sets. You are always hungry for new knowledge and want to use your precious time to make Sweden safer. Your task: In this role you are both a Data Engineer and software developer. As a Data Engineer you design, develop, and maintain solutions that interpret, process, and store large amounts of collected data. As a software developer you develop user applications that make data accessible for use in the agency's intelligence production. The world changes and so does our data, requiring continuous development to meet new needs and requirements. You will be part of a team with full responsibility for their information platform. The team works agile with ownership over development and operation of the entire stack. The team collaborates closely with other parts of analytical and processing capability production, including end-users and technical teams providing data to the system. We strive for employees to thrive and develop, viewing this as essential for team efficiency. Through training, conferences, and individual monitoring, we stay updated on the latest technology and collectively evaluate and share insights. You have the following skills/experience: Higher education in computer engineering, information systems, or equivalent, or acquired similar competence through work experience; comfortable with Linux; very good knowledge of Python; good command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. It is important you are curious, humble, with a drive to learn new things. It is also meritorious if you have experience in one or more of these areas: Big Data / large volumes of data, NoSQL databases, relational databases, JavaScript, containers/Kubernetes, information/data modeling, and communication protocols IP/Telecom. You are naturally curious about new technologies and keep updated on methodologies and new products. You enjoy problem-solving and value delivering high-quality end products. You enthusiastically share your knowledge and are attracted by the opportunity to influence future technology choices and solutions. Additionally, you find it exciting and take pride in being part of strengthening FRA's expanded intelligence capability.
