As a Systems Safety Engineer at Saab AB, you will ensure that products are safe to handle, fit for their purpose, and competitive, throughout the entire product development lifecycle. You will work closely with other development engineers to embed safety from the start, complying with standards, formal processes, and thorough documentation. The role demands a combination of strong self-drive, communication skills, and broad technical interest, with an opportunity to take on technical leadership roles. Employment requires security clearance and possibly citizenship criteria.
Main requirements:
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Several years of experience in system work and/or systems safety at a holistic level.
- Experience working with quality processes regulating the work.
- Ability to determine appropriate readiness to proceed in development.
- Strong self-drive and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
- Broad technical interest and willingness to take technical leadership roles.
- Capability to obtain and maintain security clearance, possibly requiring specific citizenship.
Responsibilities:
- Participate throughout the entire product development cycle to ensure system safety.
- Collaborate with development engineers to ensure safety is integrated from the start.
- Follow standards, formal processes, and maintain thorough documentation.
- Contribute to product safety and competitiveness.
- Engage with project teams and safety engineering unit to share expertise.
