Systems Architect

We are looking for a Systems Architect to lead our architectural vision and strategy at Brite Payments, a leading Open Banking-powered payment provider. The role involves guiding product development teams to build scalable, secure, and maintainable systems in a cloud-native environment, focusing on Google Cloud Platform services. You will work closely with product and platform engineering teams, define architectural patterns, and ensure alignment with company goals.
Main requirements:
  • Leadership experience facilitating collaboration and making decisions
  • Experience as a developer with architectural responsibilities in distributed cloud-native environments
  • Extensive experience in distributed systems architecture, including microservices, event-driven architectures, and API design
  • Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Datastore, Cloud SQL, Eventarc, API Gateway, Cloud Storage
  • Experience defining and implementing architectural patterns for scalable, resilient systems
  • Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English
  • Ability to balance team autonomy with architectural consistency
Responsibilities:
  • Own and care for the Architectural Vision aligned with company vision
  • Define architectural strategy for design and construction of independent resilient and scalable services
  • Lead the Architectural Forum and work closely with Tech Leads for architectural reviews and mentorship
  • Collaborate with Platform Engineering to align architecture with platform capabilities and limitations
  • Establish guidelines for data storage, management, and access ensuring data integrity and performance
  • Drive documentation and visualization initiatives to improve understanding of system architecture and dependencies
