System Specialist in Server Infrastructure

The IT department of the County Administrative Boards is in an exciting phase of development with a focus on digitalization, innovative solutions, security, and preparedness issues. The IT environment is extensive and varied, including modern infrastructure and in-house developed systems that benefit the whole society. The National IT department works for all 21 County Administrative Boards in Sweden. We are seeking dedicated colleagues to independently and closely work with a successful team responsible for operation and development of our Windows server platform and third-line support. The role involves continuous innovation with a strong focus on security, reliability, and availability, using mainly Microsoft infrastructure components. The position offers flexibility and possibilities for remote work partially from locations in Gothenburg, Karlstad, Vänersborg, Mariestad, or as agreed.
Main requirements:
  • Higher education in IT or equivalent documented knowledge
  • Minimum three years of experience in Windows server operation and administration
  • Good knowledge of PowerShell scripting
  • Strong ability to systematically analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize existing systems
Responsibilities:
  • Operate and develop Windows server platform nationally
  • Provide third-line support
  • Conduct continuous environmental monitoring to drive innovation
  • Implement security updates and continuous improvements
  • Collaborate effectively within the team to manage server infrastructure efficiently
  • Explore and create new solutions and functions within the focus area
Required hard skills:
  • Windows server administration and operation

Recommended hard skills:
  • ITIL experience
  • Knowledge of DNS/DHCP/Networking for server problem troubleshooting
  • Experience with Microsoft Configuration Manager

  • Experience with Remote Desktop Services
