Seeking a motivated, customer-oriented, and technically experienced Solution Architect to lead design and technical delivery of IoT and Connected Mobility solutions for enterprise customers at KDDI Spherience AB.
Main requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in telecommunications, engineering, computer science, or equivalent field.
  • 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, preferably in IoT, telecom, or connected mobility.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles across international environments.
  • Exposure to mobile network operators, SIM provisioning flows, or mobility platform integration is a strong plus.
  • Experience in pre-sales or technical consulting is desirable.
  • Fluent English required; knowledge of German, Japanese, or Swedish is a plus.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end technical architecture from embedded device (eSIM/TCU) to backend APIs and cloud integration.
  • Represent KDDI Spherience as technical lead during workshops, RFIs/RFPs, and technical alignment sessions with customers.
  • Engage and coordinate with Tier 1 Mobile Network Operators worldwide for design, provisioning, and lifecycle integration.
  • Design high-availability and geo-redundant connectivity architectures including security, orchestration, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with internal product, cloud, and network teams to deliver integrated and validated solutions.
  • Translate customer business requirements into solution blueprints, HLDs/LLDs, and technical Statements of Work.
  • Support internal engineering and commercial teams during pre-sales and post-sales engagements.
  • Ensure architectural designs comply with international standards and regional regulations such as GDPR, ISO27001, eUICC.
Required hard skills:
  • Wireless technologies including 4G/5G, eSIM/eUICC, private networks, mobile core elements (Packet Core, APN, VPN).
  • Cloud and infrastructure design (AWS, Azure) including API exposure, security principles, CI/CD practices.
  • IoT/Connected Car platforms including orchestration, SIM lifecycle, telemetry integration.
  • Telecom and IP networking knowledge (IPsec, CGNAT, DNS, DHCP).
  • Multi-region deployments and working with global Mobile Network Operators and enterprise customers.
Recommended hard skills:
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles, architectural governance.
  • Familiarity with connectivity SLAs, compliance mandates, service performance KPIs.
  • Experience supporting tender response processes and preparing technical submissions.
Soft skills:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive and collaborative with strong stakeholder alignment capabilities.
