Senior Systems Engineer

Combitech in Västerås is looking for a senior systems engineer to work on technically advanced development projects in areas such as software, electronics, mechanics, or complete technical systems. We are seeking someone experienced in systematic work with requirements, architecture, interfaces, and technical coordination who enjoys taking responsibility in complex technical environments. At Combitech, you work as a consultant, with assignments either on-site with customers or in teams from our Västerås office. You will have the opportunity to grow within your interest area while we prioritize a balance between work and leisure.
Main requirements:
  • Relevant engineering education
  • Several years of experience in systems work in technical development projects
  • Good understanding of the product lifecycle from requirements to verification
  • Experience working structured with requirements management and system documentation
  • Analytical, communicative, and capable of coordinating technical perspectives
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for breaking down needs into realizable technical solutions
  • Work with system architecture, requirements management, interface descriptions, traceability, and system verification
  • Serve as a central figure in projects acting as technical coordinator or advisor between disciplines and stakeholders
Required hard skills:
  • Systematic requirements management
  • System architecture development
  • Traceability and system verification
  • Technical coordination in multi-disciplinary projects
Recommended hard skills:
  • Model-based development (e.g., SysML, Simulink, Rhapsody)
  • Knowledge of safety-critical system standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ARP4754)
  • Experience working in projects using the V-model, Agile-SAFe or similar
  • Industry experience in defense, automotive, energy, industrial or medical technology
  • Technical leadership or architecture responsibility in development projects
