Huawei's Stockholm Digital Power Lab is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Designer with expertise in power electronics technology, simulation, design, and digital control. The role focuses on designing DC-DC, AC-DC, DC-AC converters, performing analysis and experimental lab work.
Main requirements:
  • PhD or Master's degree in Power Electronics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Deep knowledge of telecom power, inverter, BMS DCDC, EV charger, ACDC, DCAC, DCDC, grid connected, isolated/non-isolated, resonant/non-resonant topologies, modulation and control.
  • Strong understanding of power electronic converter principles and WBG semiconductor devices.
  • Motivation for innovative technology solutions and willingness to lead technical R&D activities.
  • High self-reliance, autonomous working with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technical knowledge and assume new responsibilities.
  • Professional-level English proficiency and preferred prior international and multicultural work experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal customers to identify and define system requirements for future Huawei products and solutions.
  • Lead and execute R&D projects for novel power converter system architectures and topologies focusing on low- and medium-power products (e.g., 3kW to 60kW converters).
  • Lead design, testing, and verification of power converter systems in R&D labs.
  • Coordinate with external R&D institutes and universities for collaborative technology and control algorithm development.
  • Document R&D activities and results thoroughly.
  • Represent Huawei by participating in international power electronics conferences and exhibitions.
  • Occasional travel to Huawei China for internal communications and cooperation.
Required hard skills:
  • Power electronics technology and design.
  • Simulation and design tools for power electronics and magnetic devices.
  • Deep knowledge of converter topologies and modulation/control techniques.
  • Understanding of WBG semiconductor devices.
