Join Baronit AB as a Senior Functional Safety Engineer/Leader and contribute to shaping the future of technology. In this role, you will be deeply involved in safety design, requirement reviews, and supporting teams with functional safety concepts at system, software, and hardware levels. You will lead safety engineering efforts and ensure compliance with ISO 26262 across multiple industry projects.
Main requirements:
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical, Applied Physics, or Mechatronic Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in functional safety engineering
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 26262 and functional safety activities
- Experience in safety analyses on hardware and software levels including HARA, FMEAs, FTAs, DFA
- Specification of hardware-software interfaces
- SW/HW architecture design and evaluation
- Hands-on MATLAB/Simulink modeling for functional and system concepts
- Experience managing safety requirements and technical specifications
- Fluent English, both spoken and written
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Responsibilities:
- Write and provide functional safety guidelines and templates
- Conduct safety trainings covering impact analysis, HARA, FTAs, FMEAs, and software/hardware safety analyses
- Plan and oversee safety test activities
- Develop safety concepts for systems, software, and hardware
- Lead functional safety engineering in product development
- Co-develop impact analyses and safety criteria for system design
- Create technical work products for safety requirements
- Support safety implementation across vehicle system design
- Develop verification and validation strategies including HARA, FMEAs, and FTAs
- Integrate ISO 26262 safety standards into corporate processes
- Manage technical specifications and revision control
- Ensure safety plan activities align with program timelines
- Coordinate safety topics with suppliers and customers
