Senior ASIC Validation Engineer

Ericsson AB is seeking a Senior ASIC Validation Engineer to join their global and dedicated IC Validation team within the Silicon Productization Engineering division. The role involves leading ASIC validation activities to support Ericsson's 5G and 6G market leadership by validating and delivering high-quality ASICs used in baseband and radio network products.
Main requirements:
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in electrical validation and component-level functional verification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical field
- Strong hands-on expertise in lab setups and electrical validation equipment
- Deep knowledge of ASICs, FPGAs, and hardware test setups with ability to design and troubleshoot complex validation processes
- Technical expertise in SERDES, Ethernet, PCIe, CPRI, DDR, Power, Clock, I3C
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Matlab as well as programming languages like C and C++
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting validation data and diagnosing issues
- Proven technical leadership and coaching ability
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with stakeholders to plan and execute ASIC validation activities
- Lead teams and technical areas to validate high-quality and high-performance IC products
- Drive development of ASIC validation platforms including hardware boards and software frameworks
- Guide and support team members with technical and leadership expertise
- Organize and lead technical investigations for electrical and functional ASIC validation
- Coordinate activities across the ASIC lifecycle including pre-silicon, bring-up, validation, system debug and maintenance
- Lead technical discussions with project managers, architects, and related teams including Radio and RAN Compute hardware and software
- Support ASIC validation lab development and instrument planning
- Coordinate collaboration within the global ASIC validation teams
Required hard skills:
- Electrical validation and component-level functional verification
- Design and troubleshooting of ASIC and FPGA hardware test setups
- Experience developing complex hardware systems based on ASICs
- Technical knowledge in SERDES, Ethernet, PCIe, CPRI, DDR, Power, Clock, I3C
- Scripting in Python and Matlab
- Programming in C and C++
- Use of lab instruments and validation tools
Recommended hard skills:
- Knowledge of Ericsson ASIC architecture and functionalities
- Experience with design, verification and validation of Ericsson ASICs
