Seeking a highly skilled RF ISL Specialist to develop and implement onboard RF Inter-Satellite Links on small satellite platforms for OHB Sweden, a leading Swedish supplier of space systems.
Main requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
  • Proven experience in RF communication systems development and implementation
  • Strong understanding of satellite communication and RF ISL technologies
  • Proficiency in software development and simulation tools

Responsibilities:
  • Gather and analyze mission requirements for RF ISL in small satellite constellations in LEO for LEO-LEO and LEO-GEO communications
  • Define technical specifications for RF ISL including frequency bands, data rates, modulation schemes, and link budget
  • Conduct market research to identify suitable RF ISL hardware considering TRL, power demand, mass, pointing requirements, and data rates
  • Develop system architecture documents outlining RF ISL components and their interactions, focusing on Telemetry and Telecommand operations in S-Band
  • Create design documents for RF ISL components such as transceivers, antennas, amplifiers, and filters including schematics and specifications
  • Document signal processing algorithms and protocols in a Space-to-Space Interface Control Document with mathematical models and flowcharts
  • Develop Design, Development, and Verification Plan (DDVP) for tests on RF ISL components and system
  • Develop Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) Plan for integrating RF ISL subsystem into small satellite platforms
  • Define software development plan to model ISL access between LEO-LEO and LEO-GEO satellites, including link-budget analysis and performance criteria
  • Develop a software simulator as part of the small satellite simulator
