The role involves providing leadership support and research coordination within pediatrics at Uppsala University's Department of Women's and Children's Health. The position includes close collaboration with the department head, researchers, doctoral students, and university functions in an international and multidisciplinary environment, focusing on health and welfare. The coordinator will manage administrative and communicative tasks, coordinate ongoing and upcoming research projects both strategically and practically, and contribute to the planning and execution of workshops, seminars, and joint activities.
Main requirements:
  • PhD relevant to medical and/or epidemiological research or equivalent knowledge as judged by the employer
  • At least 1 year documented experience in administrative work
  • Very good communication skills in both Swedish and English, spoken and written
  • Competent in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams
  • Quality-conscious, responsive, flexible under time pressure, and unpretentious
Responsibilities:
  • Operational work in a varied environment with close collaboration with department leadership, researchers, doctoral candidates, and other university functions
  • Supporting the head of department in daily management tasks
  • Coordinating ongoing and upcoming research projects strategically and practically
  • Serving as administrative and communicative support including meeting coordination, following up decisions, internal communication, and ensuring efficient institutional processes
  • Coordinating and following up research projects within the head of department’s research group including application support, reporting, contact with external partners, and other research administration
  • Handling contracts, service grading plans, and contributing to planning and implementing workshops, seminars, and other joint activities
  • Interacting internally within the institution and university as well as externally with regional and other national and international partners
Required hard skills:
  • PhD or equivalent in medical or epidemiological research
  • Administrative work experience
  • Fluency in Swedish and English (spoken and written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Recommended hard skills:
