A postdoctoral research position at Chalmers University of Technology focusing on sustainable nutrition, specifically investigating plant-based diets, antinutritional factors, and the effects of food processing with an emphasis on iron nutrition and bioavailability.
Main requirements:
- Doctoral degree in food and nutrition science, medicine, or biological engineering obtained no more than three years prior to application deadline (exceptions possible for parental leave, sick leave, military service).
- Well documented experience in human clinical trials and management of bioavailability studies of minerals.
- Experience with iron nutrition and status data.
- Experience analyzing antinutritional factors in plant foods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate the impact of plant-based diets focusing on antinutritional factors and food processing effects.
- Perform chemical analysis and mathematical modeling related to nutrition research.
- Write and publish research papers.
- Collaborate with partners specializing in environmental sustainability and mathematical modeling.
- Work in a multidisciplinary team with experts in food science, nutrition, bioavailability, sustainability, life cycle assessments, and modeling.
- Potentially teach undergraduate and master's level courses.
- Supervise master's and/or PhD students to some extent.
- Engage in academic and societal collaborations.
