Network Engineer WAN

Work with design, production, and configuration management of service networks in the Swedish Armed Forces' fixed telecommunications network (FTN), supporting total defense operations including air, sea, and international missions. Provide technical support and collaborate within a team in a security-sensitive environment.
Main requirements:
  • Post-secondary education focused on IT or equivalent experience assessed by employer
  • Current and relevant experience in design and configuration of IP-based networks
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Driver's license class B
Responsibilities:
  • Design and production of service networks in the fixed telecommunications network (FTN)
  • Configuration management of network equipment
  • Provide technical support within the area of expertise to operation and maintenance organization and decision makers
  • Collaborate in a team of experienced colleagues
  • Adapt to evolving tasks due to the Defence Forces’ growth
  • Participate in required training and security protocols
Required hard skills:
  • IP network design and configuration
  • Experience working with DNS
  • Experience with security products such as firewalls and cryptosystems
  • Knowledge of telecommunication functions, architecture, and expansion processes
Recommended hard skills:

  • Experience handling classified documentation
  • Cisco certifications like CCNA or CCNP
