Lead efforts to increase knowledge, self-confidence, and future prospects for youth in Gothenburg and Western Sweden as a local junior project manager at Mattecentrum, Sweden's largest nonprofit math tutoring organization.
Main requirements:
  • Experience in project management or coordination, preferably in nonprofit contexts.
  • Experience in building and developing collaborations.
  • Understanding of children and youth living conditions in socioeconomically challenged areas.
  • Fluent Swedish speaking and writing skills.
  • Completed upper secondary education or equivalent foreign education.
Responsibilities:
  • Establish and coordinate Mattecentrum's activities, especially in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas through tutoring, theme days, and other activities that enhance youth knowledge and confidence in mathematics.
  • Identify the target group's needs and adapt activities accordingly in collaboration with local associations, schools, teachers, community groups, and businesses to build sustainable partnerships and reach more youth.
  • Recruit, introduce, and support volunteers while ensuring adequate staffing and an engaging, sustainable volunteer environment.
  • Monitor activities by collecting statistics, documenting, and evaluating results, and sharing insights to contribute to Mattecentrum's national development.
  • Actively participate in the startup and scaling of activities in cooperation with Mattecentrum's local association in the West region.
Required hard skills:

  • Swedish language fluency (speaking and writing).
  • Upper secondary education or equivalent.

  • Good knowledge of mathematics, preferably at university level.
