Linux Operations Specialist with Team Lead Responsibilities

An experienced Linux specialist passionate about automation and advanced IT infrastructure, taking a key role in modernizing and developing Linux environments with focus on lifecycle management, migrations, and automation using technologies like Puppet, Red Hat, and MariaDB. Half-time team lead role included.
Main requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of IT industry experience
  • Experience in leadership roles
  • At least 5 years practical experience with Linux infrastructure in large-scale production environments including RHEL 7, 8, and 9
  • At least 3 years of Puppet configuration and automation experience
  • Experience managing Satellite environments integrated with VMware
  • Ability to write and maintain shell scripts for automation
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both verbal and written
Responsibilities:
  • Handle daily operational tasks and incidents using ticket systems
  • Work on deeper activities and projects tracked via Jira
  • Lead lifecycle management project for migrating services from Red Hat 7 to Red Hat 9 including environment preparation with disk and network setup, Puppet, and Satellite management
  • Migrate databases from old MariaDB hosting to new MariaDB hosting
  • Migrate websites and application servers (Apache, PHP, Java, Spring Boot) to new platforms
  • Modernize Puppet configurations and automate deployments
  • Modernize Satellite system infrastructure
  • Fulfill half-time responsibilities as team leader
Required hard skills:
  • Linux administration, especially RHEL 7, 8, 9
  • Puppet configuration and automation

  • Experience with Satellite and Rundeck
  • ITIL knowledge and experience writing change requests
  • GIT, Bash scripting, Tomcat, Apache web servers
