An IT Technician role in the public sector involving responsibility for daily IT operations, network management, user support, and IT security. The position requires relevant education and work experience, strong technical skills, and proficiency in Swedish and English.
Main requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent plus 4 years’ relevant work experience
  • OR higher education in IT (e.g., university engineer in computer science) or equivalent plus at least 2 years’ relevant work experience
  • Very good knowledge of computers, peripherals, operating systems, networks, communication, and information security
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office or equivalent
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems such as Easit GO or ServiceNow
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure daily IT operations run smoothly
  • Troubleshoot and assess how to resolve faults
  • Act as local IT technician focusing on operation and development of local network environment and communication within the building
  • Provide user support and assistance
  • Manage data communication, operation, and data security in large network environments, sometimes on a global scale
  • Test new products and inform users about updates
  • Install and customize computers managing network communication, such as routers, servers, and workstations
  • Work to secure IT operations (e.g., install firewalls)
  • Install and adapt software to the network
  • Be technically responsible for IT equipment in conference areas, e.g., video meeting systems
  • Handle backup management
  • Administer standard systems such as mail and calendar
  • Administer backup, storage, and application servers
