The Swedish Customs Administration (Tullverket) seeks an experienced GIS specialist/strategist passionate about geodata to enhance the agency's capabilities in map analysis and visualization. The role involves planning, proposing, and implementing effective GIS applications, conducting analyses and model development to identify geographic patterns and trends, supporting various operations with geographic data and expertise, and developing digital maps and geo-visual tools.
Main requirements:
- University degree (minimum 180 credits) in relevant fields such as GIS, Geoscience, Cartography, Geomatics or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2-3 years experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geodata management.
- Experience with GIS software such as Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro or similar.
- Experience processing large datasets.
- Ability to analyze, visualize, and present geographical information pedagogically.
- Experience identifying and communicating operational needs for GIS solutions.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English.
- Swedish citizenship.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and identify GIS needs and propose effective, value-adding GIS applications for the agency.
- Conduct analyses and develop models for identifying geographic patterns and trends.
- Drive development of a long-term and sustainable GIS strategy.
- Support different agency departments by providing geographic data and expert knowledge.
- Ensure GIS analyses are integrated into agency development and decision-making.
- Design and update digital maps and geovisualization tools to present information user-friendly.
Required hard skills:
- Experience with GIS software (e.g., Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro).
- Handling and processing large geographic datasets.
- Geodata analysis and visualization skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly in Swedish and English.
Recommended hard skills:

- Programming knowledge in Python or similar languages.
