Nordea is seeking an Expert Data Scientist to join its Group AI Center of Excellence to work on machine learning and AI use cases across the bank. The role involves collaborating with data scientists, ML engineers, and business stakeholders to develop, deploy, and maintain AI applications ensuring ethical, safe, and sustainable solutions. The position supports scaling and innovation in ML/AI, including generative AI, in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Main requirements:
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage with technical and business teams
  • Ability to design and build scalable, reliable machine learning and AI solutions
  • Experience with end-to-end development from concept to deployment of AI applications
  • Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, legal, privacy, and model risk validation frameworks
  • Stay updated with latest AI methods, tools, and services
Responsibilities:
  • Resolve data-intensive decision-making problems using data processing and modeling
  • Build scalable and reliable ML/AI solutions leveraging existing assets or creating new ones
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and business problems
  • Develop AI applications from idea through production deployment
  • Incorporate feedback from model validation, legal, and privacy teams
  • Optimize code for model deployment pipelines
  • Research and recommend new AI technologies and methodologies
Required hard skills:
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in testing, maintaining, and launching AI/ML products
  • Strong skills in MLOps and DevOps environments, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, container orchestration
  • Expertise in training, evaluation, fine-tuning, and deployment of predictive models
  • Proficiency in data science programming languages such as Python, PySpark, and SQL
  • Experience with IBM Watson (CP4D), BitBucket, Hive, Unix systems, and visualization tools like PowerBI
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their ML and serverless services
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
