At TRATON Group, work with leading commercial vehicle brands to develop sustainable transportation solutions. The role focuses on defining, developing, and initiating future hardware products within the Scania Workshop Suite, especially communication units enabling secure and efficient tool-vehicle interaction. Requires system-level thinking and hands-on prototyping abilities.
Main requirements:
  • Define and develop future hardware products focusing on communication units.
  • Ability to independently build, test, and validate prototypes and concepts.
  • Translate complex technical ideas into simple explanations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience or knowledge in technology and network communication.
  • Persistence and structured approach to navigate processes and procurement.
  • Collaborative team player with shared decision-making mindset.
Responsibilities:
  • Create technical concepts for new or improved products (e.g., VCI, WCU, Remote Box).
  • Define technical requirements focusing on functionality, interfaces, robustness, and compatibility.
  • Build and modify prototypes including basic construction, soldering, measurement, assembly.
  • Assess new hardware components and communication modules (CAN, Wi-Fi, LTE, USB, BLE) related to hardware and network perspectives.
  • Write simple scripts for test automation and perform functional validation in lab environment.
  • Support procurement with technical expertise during sourcing and supplier evaluations.
Required hard skills:
  • System-level hardware development and prototyping skills.
  • Soldering and assembly skills.
  • Understanding of network communication technologies such as CAN, Wi-Fi, LTE, USB, BLE.
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python) for test automation.
  • Knowledge of hardware and network interfaces and robustness requirements.
Recommended hard skills:
  • Experience with automotive or industrial IoT hardware or system architecture.
  • Familiarity with connected devices and communication protocols such as Ethernet.
  • Insight into diagnostic tools, remote access systems.
  • Knowledge of Scania’s service processes and workshop flows.
