Design Engineer – Floating Wind Turbine Systems

Design Engineer position focusing on floating offshore wind turbine systems, contributing to mechanical and system design, creating detailed 3D models and manufacturable solutions, in a project-based role in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Main requirements:
  • 3+ years experience in mechanical or product design preferably in energy, marine, machinery, or offshore industries
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, Naval Architecture, or similar field
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor
  • Experience with machined parts, steel structures, and mechanical assemblies
  • Understanding of GD&T tolerancing, DFM principles, and mechanical standards
  • Good English verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to mechanical and system design of floating wind turbine components and subsystems
  • Create and manage 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
  • Assist design of large steel structures, machined parts, and corrosion-resistant assemblies
  • Support integration of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems into functional solutions
  • Collaborate with structural, electrical, and hydrodynamic engineers for cohesive designs
  • Assist system-level layout and interface design including drivetrains, brake systems, cooling systems, and mechanical joints
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to develop parts and ensure production readiness
  • Participate in design reviews and concept evaluations
Required hard skills:
  • Mechanical design and engineering
  • 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of machined parts and steel structural design
  • GD&T tolerancing and DFM (Design for Manufacturability)
  • Mechanical standards understanding
