Join Kristianstad Municipality in their digital transformation as a Database Developer, working with large data sets, modern technologies, and critical IT solutions to drive data-driven decision making and efficient processes. You will develop, maintain, and deliver backend, data warehouse, and database services, primarily on Microsoft SQL platforms, collaborating internally and externally to optimize and secure data resources.
Main requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in IT, Computer Science, or Systems Science at university level
  • Several years of experience as a database developer
  • Understanding of database security, including security routines, roles, permissions, and data protection
  • Knowledge of backup and restore strategies for databases
  • Proficiency in SQL and SQL optimization using script-based languages
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server including architecture
  • Good understanding of PowerBI or equivalent analytics tools
  • Experience writing SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Experience scripting with PowerShell
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, server, and database management
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Comfortable delivering presentations and training sessions with audience-adapted communication
  • Possession of a manual transmission Class B driving license to travel locally when needed
  • Ability to work structured, with focus on solutions, and follow instructions, procedures, laws, policies, and deadlines
  • Good analytical skills, solution-oriented mindset, ability to interpret and understand large data volumes
  • Strong collaboration skills including listening, empathy, respect, and humility
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, optimize, integrate and manage the municipal database platform based on Microsoft SQL Server
  • Work within the system and infrastructure unit responsible for central platforms of the municipality
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on data and IT related projects
  • Contribute to the development of the data warehouse platform and decision support solutions
  • Support operational and strategic backend and data warehouse demands driven by digitalization and AI initiatives
