Wolt is seeking a Data Scientist to join their Merchant Analytics Team, focusing on solving key business problems using data to drive actionable insights and decisions. The role involves diagnostic analysis, solution identification, experiment design, and influencing decision-making in the Merchant Group that supports merchants' daily business through self-service tools and automation.
Main requirements:
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience
- 4-5+ years experience in analytics or data science role within industry or research
- Expertise in statistical analysis including hypothesis testing, experimentation, and causal inference
- Proficiency with statistical software packages like Python, R, or equivalent
- Proficient in writing efficient SQL queries on large datasets
- Experience building data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Mixpanel, Looker or similar
- Strong ability to pursue new data sources and tackle ambiguous problems systematically with data-driven and hypothesis-based methods
Responsibilities:
- Analyze large datasets to diagnose problem areas and identify solutions
- Design experiments and perform causal inference studies to influence business decisions
- Build intuitive data visualizations and dashboards to support merchant success and marketplace strategy
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to turn insights into actionable recommendations that benefit merchants and enhance consumer experience
