Data Protection Strategist

A strategic role responsible for developing and advancing systematic data protection and GDPR compliance within Region Uppsala. The position involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent governance, risk analysis, and adherence to evolving legislation and technology requirements.
Main requirements:
- Swedish citizenship
- Relevant university education or equivalent work experience
- Several years of experience working with data protection, preferably in a larger organization
- Knowledge of systematic data protection/GDPR and associated legal frameworks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish
Responsibilities:
- Develop and strategically enhance Region Uppsala's systematic data protection efforts
- Create governance and supporting documents to ensure unified strategic data protection management
- Collaborate closely with operational units to produce data protection impact assessments and analyses
- Work proactively to ensure compliance with data protection legislation and strengthen long-term organizational capabilities
- Collaborate with Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to guidelines and support for various departments
- Participate in security-classified duties including potential assignment in crisis and wartime management
Required hard skills:

- Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation
- Experience in producing data protection analyses and impact assessments
- Strategic planning and development of guidelines and procedures
Recommended hard skills:
- Experience with data protection in public administration
- Background as data protection coordinator or strategist
- Experience formulating strategic documentation based on legislation
