As a Backend Engineer at Embark Studios, you will be a key member of a creative game team focused on building powerful and reusable infrastructure and backend components for games. You will take initiative to solve exciting challenges, build scalable services that power games, and continuously improve them. You'll work mainly on matchmaking and also contribute to data analytics, game client, backend service infrastructure, using technologies such as Go, C++, GCP, Bazel, Kubernetes, Grafana, Google Spanner. No prior game industry experience is required.
Main requirements:
- Build and maintain scalable backend services for games
- Work closely with fellow engineers and technical stakeholders
- Continuously improve engineering practices
- Deliver high-value code to colleagues
- Work across various domains including backend services, data analytics, game clients, infrastructure and observability
- Good professional communication skills in English

Required hard skills:
- Proficiency with Go programming language
