Automotive Functional Safety Engineers

AFRY AB is seeking Automotive Functional Safety Engineers to plan and follow up functional safety activities, support safety processes, and own safety work products within projects. Roles include Functional Safety Engineers, System Engineers, and Test Engineers focusing on ISO 26262 compliance.
Main requirements:
  • Deep knowledge in at least one vehicle domain related to electrical/electronic hardware or embedded software
  • Good understanding of requirements breakdown from design to production
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • At least 7 years of experience in automotive electrical systems development
  • Good knowledge of ISO 26262
  • Familiarity with requirement management tools like System Weaver, DOORS, or Elektra
  • Fluent business English verbal and written communication
  • Swedish driver license type B required
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and follow up functional safety activities within team/ART/project
  • Support project and test planning, Safety Joint Reviews, Formal Reviews, and release of work products
  • Own functional safety work products such as Project Safety Plan, Project Safety Test Plan, and Safety Case
  • Define, analyze and validate Safety Goals, Functional Safety Requirements, and Technical Safety Requirements
  • Collaborate closely with Function Owners, System Engineers, and Test Engineers
  • Use FMEA and FTA for design and requirements analysis
  • Develop test methods, test planning, and test execution according to ISO 26262
  • Define and prepare test environment and test objects for various test levels including vehicle, function, system, and component

  • Vehicle electrical/electronic hardware knowledge

  • Experience with software quality and process standards such as CMMI and Automotive SPICE
